MG Comet interior details revealed: Most affordable EV with connected displays
Talking about the steering wheel first, it features a two-spoke design with controls mounted on either side. The teaser also hints at the fact that the controls have been inspired by the buttons of a portable media player from early 2000s, typically an Apple iPod. What’s more, the car seems to be equipped with a large free-standing digital display that conjoins the infotainment system as well as the instrument cluster.

The trend has so far been seen on larger and more expensive cars, but it seems like its now trickling down to affordable cars too. As a matter of fact, the MG Comet will go on to become the most affordable EV in India to be offered with a connected display setup! Other highlights of the cabin include circular dials placed under the middle air-con vents, which likely control the AC settings.
The MG Comet EV will essentially be a rebadged version of the Wuling Air EV, and will put up against the likes of the Citroen eC3 as well as the Tiago EV in the Indian market. It is expected to be launched in two battery pack options – 20 kWh and 25 kWh. The range on offer from these battery packs is expected to be around 150 km – 200 km on a single full charge.
The Comet will feature a two-door design and will primarily be aimed at buyers looking for a compact EV for intra-city travel. On the outside, the affordable EV is expected to come equipped with LED headlights and tail lights. MG is expected to price the Comet EV from around the Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.
