Meta brings a slice of metaverse to Facebook, Instagram
What is Meta Horizon Worlds?
Meta Horizon Worlds is a virtual world that aims to provide a fully decentralised and immersive experience for its users. In Meta Horizon Worlds, users can create and customise their own avatars and explore various virtual worlds that are interconnected through the metaverse. They can interact with other users in real-time, engage in various activities, and participate in events and games.
One of the unique features of Meta Horizon Worlds is the ability for users to own virtual land within the virtual world. This land can be developed and monetised by the user, creating a new form of digital asset ownership.
How is it coming to Facebook and Instagram?
In a blog post, Meta revealed that it is starting to test the ability to share photos and videos from Worlds to Instagram and Facebook Stories. “As we’re still testing this feature, it’s currently only available to about 50% of people. We hope to expand to more people throughout the month of May,” the company said in the blog post.
To share to Stories, users can head to the Media Gallery, select one or more images or videos, then open the share icon, select Instagram or Facebook Stories as a sharing destination, and click share. “We hope that sharing to Stories is fun and easy, and we can’t wait to see what you create,” Meta added in the blog post.
