Magicians MSD | Mathew Hayden said a big thing about Dhoni, said – MSD takes someone else’s ‘garbage’ and makes it ‘gold’

New Delhi: Australian cricket great Mathew Hayden believes that Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a magician who turns someone else’s garbage into gold and has played a role in the success of Chennai Super Kings. So much has contributed that talking about his future as a player with the franchise is almost irrelevant. Under Dhoni’s captaincy, CSK has reached the IPL final for the 10th time. The team’s bowling was weak at the start of the tournament but Dhoni made the best out of it. Even in batting, the way Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dubey were used, they are being praised everywhere. Dhoni played in the tournament with a knee injury. He has given himself eight to nine months to decide on his future as a player. Hayden, however, believes that he will not play in the next IPL. Hayden told PTI, “MS is a magician. He takes someone else’s garbage and turns it into gold. He is a very skilful and positive captain. He has said very interesting thing which shows his humility. How strong is the coordination between the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association and its team and is also a link in the process of strengthening the team. There is a process to achieving every goal and he has shown it with the Indian team and now with CSK.” “Whether he will play next year or not is irrelevant now. I think he will not play but he is MS Dhoni,” he said at an event organized by the University of Technology Sydney. Hayden also said that with the growing trend of T20 cricket across the world, it has become difficult for players to play in all three formats. He said, “The time of players playing in all three formats is coming to an end. There is a lot of excitement about playing Test cricket and the World Test Championship is an example of that. Apart from this, there is a lot of T20 cricket happening. He said that players who give up national contracts to play franchise cricket around the world cannot be blamed. He said, “It is certain that tomorrow if children want to play cricket, they will play franchise cricket only. He has seen how active many players from underprivileged sections are, especially the West Indies cricketers. For example, would Nicholas Pooran want to play Test cricket? Before that Dwayne Bravo played Test cricket but mostly played franchise cricket around the world.
