Hope sent the rumour mill into overdrive after changing the family emoji on her Instagram profile details from a family of four to one of a solo parent and two children.

Neither Hope nor Carlstrom has addressed the rumour or confirmed the news.

Instagram gossip page Influencer Updated AU first suspected the possible split – taking a screenshot of Hope’s new Instagram profile.

“It appears @moanahope has confirmed breakup rumours by changing the emoji in her bio to 👩‍👧‍👦,” the account wrote.

As the rumour swirled, both mothers have done posts ahead of Mother’s Day on May 14 – with neither post mentioning their respective partner.

In a post accompanied by a heartfelt video, Hope shared some “words of wisdom” from her mum.

“My mum would always say just follow your heart,” she wrote.

“It’s simple but something that has stuck with me forever.

“I think these words have empowered me as a mother, as everything I do is always with love and every decision I make involving my kids is always from the heart.”

As news of the couple’s reported split spread, fans took to social media to react.

“That’s really sad,” one said, as a second wrote, “This is shattering”.

“I’m shocked, who would have thought,” a third said.

“Love is officially dead if this is true 😢,” another said.

“These two were the real deal. This sucks. Mostly for their kiddos x,” a fan wrote.

“I’ve had a feeling for a while now, this hurts 🥺🥺 I hope they are both okay and the children of course. They just bought a house too 😢,” added another.

The question marks come after the family seemingly had a carefree trip to Japan in February.

“First family holiday to Japan with our babies to create memories like these that will live in my heart forever,” Hope said in February, sharing photos of the family in the ski fields.

The family also recently moved into a new home.

Hope gave birth to their second child, a son named Ahi, in June 2022 via Monash IVF.

Carlstrom birthed their first child, a daughter named Svea, in November 2020 with the same donor as Ahi.

Hope spoke of her adoration for Carlstrom after she welcomed Svea, writing at the time that she has “been in love with this woman since the day I met her.

“My love for her is one that I didn’t think could get any stronger, and then you gave birth to our child,” she said.

Carlstrom told Vogue magazine she met Hope in a Melbourne bar in 2017 and had no idea she was a well-known football player.

“I had just come back from living in India for four years, I had no idea that women had started playing AFL,” she said.

“I was at a bar on Chapel Street and noticed Moana and went up to her, and the rest is history.

“It was an instant connection and we have been inseparable ever since.”
