Costco removed a protein bar from shelves after a recall notice

Costco stores in Calif. had to remove a certain brand of protein bar after a recall of the product was issued.
Newsday LLC / ContributorProtein bars sold at Costco in eight states, including California, have been recalled. The maker of the protein bars, Wellness Natural USA, instituted the voluntary recall on March 31, according to KRON4.
The recalled bars were on Costco shelves between Feb. 27, 2023, and Mar. 31, 2023. The specific protein bar was sold in 15-bar variety packs with three different flavors. The code number, TN3005A, was displayed on each wrapper and the outside of the variety pack box. People with a severe allergy to cashew nuts are at risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume Simply Protein Peanut Butter Chocolate Crispy Bars with the code number TN3005A.
Neither of the other two flavors in the pack was identified as impacted by the recall announcement. However, purchasers of the product can return the entire variety pack for a full refund from Costco.
A consumer complaint is the only report of an allergic reaction at this time. It is unclear in which state that person made the purchase or if other reactions have gone unreported. Wellness Natural USA, which is based in Wilmington, Delaware, is still investigating what led to trace amounts of undeclared cashew nuts in its Simply Protein Peanut Butter Chocolate Crispy Bars.
