The incident was graded as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact, which is a one-match ban.
If Carlton accept the suspension then McKay will miss next week’s clash against Adelaide in Gather Round.
McKay kicked four goals in the Blues’ 23-point win over the Kangaroos on Friday.
It was a return to form for the 2021 Coleman medallist, who had managed just two goals in the first three rounds.
