Cam’ron calls out Warriors’ Jordan Poole for $500,000 Ice Spice date

Most of the recent takes about Golden State Warriors guard Jordan Poole have centered on his lackluster postseason performances. New York rapper Cam’ron opted for a very different critique.

Cam’ron went in on the Dubs guard during his online sports talk show with fellow rapper, and former adversary, Mase (stylized as Ma$e) called “It Is What It Is.” After declaring that Poole has been “stinking it the f—k up since you got that bag,” he called out Poole’s alleged date with rapper Ice Spice.

Ice Spice is a 23-year-old rapper from the Bronx, New York, who became popular at the end of 2022 for her hit “Munch,” and has only gotten more popular with a feature verse on “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2.” Gossip site Media Take Out reported in mid-March that Poole supposedly took Ice Spice out on a half-million-dollar date, which Cam’ron — who’s very outspoken, sometimes a bit outlandish, and arguably the funniest artist in the genre — found to be obscene.

“Jordan Poole, you spent $500,000 on the Ice Spice date,” Cam’ron said. “You’re a munch, and you’re playing like a f—king munch. This is not you from last year. Go back to Milwaukee and figure it the f—k out and get back in the playoffs because you look crazy.” (Poole is from Milwaukee.)

The Dipset member went on to explain his take is rooted in disappointment; he became a fan of Poole during last year’s playoffs, a sentiment that many Warriors fans can understand.

Throughout this season and playoffs, Poole’s game has not lived up to the $123 million guaranteed price tag he signed in October. His ball-handling has been sloppy, his shot hasn’t been falling, and, even in Game 1 against the Lakers where he looked pretty solid, he received plenty of criticism for missing a deep potential game-winning shot attempt. The fact that a teammate punched him in the face before the season hasn’t softened any of the complaints.

Cam’ron, however, was mostly focused on the Ice Spice date.

“What happens is this: When you start dating the Ice Spices and the people, they say, ‘Boo watching, boo watching, let me get all crazy,’” Cam’ron said. “She don’t give a f—k, she from the Bronx, bro. Fordham Road, have you been to Fordham Road? Jordan Poole, next time you go to New York, go around Fordham Road, Concourse, Highbridge, South Bronx. You going to see what you spent $500,000 on and be like, ‘Yo, I was wilding.’”

At this point, Mase, who had mostly been gassing up Cam’ron throughout his tirade, chimed in with a well-timed “you could’ve got her a pizza,” causing both rappers, and host Treasure Wilson, to burst into laughter.

“He could’ve definitely got her a slice and a soda, and s—t would’ve been cooler, man,” Cam’ron said.

He then added,“I didn’t mean to go that deep on Jordan Poole, but I’m sick of this s—t, man.”
